Fantastic price and product. I bought it for my 84 year old mother and she can use it no problem

In case you’re looking – as I was – for a home phone you can pair with a bluetooth headset (for groovy handsfree calling) this DOESN’T do it, despite what it says on the box.

Otherwise it’s a perfectly adequate DECT phone/answerphone combination with the added bonus of being able to make and take calls from your mobile on the handset. Which is nice.

Well as a phone this set works well enough. Call quality is slightly above average in terms of clarity at both ends of a call. The base station and handsets won’t win any prizes for appearance but they are straight forward and perfectly functional. I have however noticed that their range is not as good as the iDECT phones they are replacing, and when I’m working in my office in the garden, they sometimes struggle to maintain a connection, where the old phone had no problems.

I do however question the usefulness of the Bluetooth link to mobiles function. You can link up to two mobile phones to the system, which connect to the handsets by Bluetooth. So when your mobile rings, the iDECT also rings (can be set to have a different ringtone for each mobile). The iDECT handset also displays the name of the mobile phone that is ringing. There is a specific mobile button on the iDECT handset that must be used to answer incoming calls on mobiles. Now bearing in mind that your mobile must be within Bluetooth range (3 or 4 metres) of the iDECT handset, I have to question what the point of this feature is. You can just as easily pick up your mobile. The only benefit that I can think of is if your mobile is running out of charge and you want to save the battery by answering with the iDECT, however, seeing that you will be at home with access to your charger, this “advantage” is somewhat negated.

So in summary – its a perfectly good phone with a very clear call quality. It may not be ideal if you need to use it a long way from the base station. Mobile Bluetooth link seems to just be a bit of a gimmick without a particularly useful application.
