Well not quite…. I just bought 2. I love this phone. The only thing I would say is that it would have been more user friendly if there was a backlight enabling to you to see who’s calling without closely examing the dark screen to see who’s calling. Minor thing though. It’s so simple to use all the functions such as programming in numbers and names which means you can screen the calls as and when the phone rings! I also the choice of ringtones, not that i’ve used that feature and the cord is nice and long (about 3 metres(?)) or so. I would say, you will have to buy x2 AA batteries for use of the 1571 and handheld feature but considering I’ve had the phone for about 2 months now, I haven’t replaced any batteries yet and don’t know how long it’ll last. There is a special button allocated for 1571 so when someone calls and leaves a message, instead of picking up the phone and painstakiingly dial to see who rung, the green light will flash whereby all you need to do is simply press this button and it dials 1571 for you all handsfree and on speakerphone – how lazy can you get?? I love it!

The telephone is very neat to look at. Large numbers and easy to see features. the caller display is clear but no back light as advertised. Easy to add numbers on the directory and find them.. Handsfree quite clear and adjustable. One of the drawbacks is the incoming calls are shown as calls 1-2 etc on the display which I am unable to get rid of.The 1571 feature is good and useful as this flashes to let you know there is a message waiting. There is a red light that flashes when there is an incoming call. Unfortunately the phone downstairs will not stop ringing if incoming calls are answered on this one. May be a fault on my line but it is rather annoying. Good value but I have yet to see if the phone lasts very long!! some BT phones tend to start going wrong after a while (may be my bad luck).

As usual I ordered and it arrived in a couple of days. As for the phone, its a simple, easy to set up and use phone. It stores some numbers, rings clearly, does hands free and is nice and clear. The keys are big and clear and easy to operate. It does exactly what it claims and does so well.

As for the reviews that complain – it can’t be wall mounted – doesn’t do text – doesn’t notify if calls waiting in network, make coffee…. well it doesn’t claim any such features. Oh yes…. the little numbers on the display are known as the date and time; nothing to do with calls received etc.
