Function over form,
Dual SIM is useful to me because the greedy mobile operators in the UK don’t share towers, although there was talk that they would in rural areas. With dual SIM i can have say a Vodafone and EE SIM in my phone at the same time hopefully doubling the chance I can get signal if required. It is of note that you can make 999 calls from any phone on anybodies network but If it’s not life or death (e.g. self inflicted broken arm from running in isolated places) I wouldn’t want to drag emergency services away from those who need it more desperately.
The SOS button when pressed will dial and send a preset text to up to 5 contacts, I can see this as a useful labor saving device if in pain. Also if for any reason you pass out it’s better to have tried to have sent a text as it will keep trying to get through even if you aren’t able to make a call. You can set it to start a loud alarm out of the phone also.
Torch is a bit rubbish, probably only of use for changing the batteries in my head torch although probably enough in a power cut in a house or finding keyholes in front door / car etc. Can be used with the phone off.
Build quality is average, It doesn’t feel like it would break easily but the tactile feel of plastics are quite cheap. The ribbed areas around the outside aren’t rubber but the same plastic. The buttons click nicely when pressed, it speaks the number you have pressed (for if you are hard of hearing perhaps) and they are nice and large. This would help me if i was wearing gloves on a run, touch screens do not always work through gloves.
Lastly it’s fairly cheap so I wouldn’t care to much if i did break it. I would add that you can get Dual SIM nokias for a similar price e.g. Nokia 101, with a sharper display and better build quality & feel but with smaller buttons and no SOS button which is probably why you are looking at this in the first place.
